I studied International History at the London School of Economics, but my career began after I studied abroad. I met the most amazing people from all over the world, and totally fell in love with languages and the connections they create. After graduating, I went on to become an English teacher. It was after teaching over 1,000 classes that I noticed something: most of the English learner content out there felt like homework: "don't say this, say that" or lists of phrases to sound ‘like a native’.

I wanted to make something different!

English With Evie is built on the idea that the best way to learn a language is to live it, not study it. My approach is rooted in linguistic theory, specifically comprehensible input. I create content that helps your brain absorb English naturally, the way you learned your first language. My videos are based on native content, just made more accessible.

In five months English With Evie grew to over 200,000 followers across platforms. I also host The English Podcast on Spotify, where I chat about life, languages and anything that comes to mind.

When I'm not making content, I'm usually writing or working with my students. I'm a recipient of the Cornish Young and Talented Writers Award. I also dabble in learning Spanish and (a little bit of) Korean. Whatever I do, I usually have a coffee with me.
